The home owner is Pembroke, Massachusetts had been dealing with a few crawl space issues one being that they had drafty floors on the main living level. They also had dampness or moisture in the crawl space. After meeting with our system design specialist they decided upon our CleanSpace vapor barrier to protect their home from moisture.
A very common concern we hear is about fieldstone foundations in basements, like this one in Cohasset, MA. The stone and concrete combination usually has a hard time holding up against water so those problems are not uncommon in fieldstone basements. Our solution for those leaking walls is Waterguard around the perimeter with CleanSpace on the walls. While the Waterguard collects any leakage, the CleanSpace keeps the water seeping through from getting into the basement and directs it right into the drainage system. The CleanSpace also keeps out pests and prevents any mold growth from happening on those walls, and not to mention a much cleaner look to the basement.
In Cohasset, MA this crawlspace was a mess before we got to work in it! There was old insulation, dirt, and old plastic everywhere, it was time for an upgraded space. After cleaning out the crawlspace, we installed TerraBlock ground insulation with CleanSpace vapor barrier on top to keep the pests out and inside the crawl controlled. Along with a SaniDry Sedona, the dehumidifier was added to take and keep the moisture out.
