Before and after the installation of CleanSpace vapor barrier and SilverGlo insulated wall panels.
This homeowner in Westfield, MA was finding that their crawl space was full of moisture and had a musty smell. A friend of theirs recently had work done on their home by us so they knew DryZone was the team to trust. Connor, one of our inspectors, took a look at the crawl space during the free estimate and determined that encapsulation was the way to go. On installation day, foreman Lucio and his crew got to work! They began by laying our drainage matting over the dirt floor and insulated with our TerraBlock and SilverGlo insulations. The drainage matting allows water to flow under and out of the space instead of getting stuck inside of it. The TerraBlock is laid over the drainage matting and insulates the floor while the SilverGlo insulates the walls, insulation is key for regulating the temperature in the crawl space. Next, the crew was ready to fully encapsulate the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, which seals of the space and protects it from water and other outside factors. This crawl space also had a vent that lead outside, so the crew installed our Everlast Door over it to completely protect the space from being negatively impacted from the weather. This homeowner is now much happier with the conditions of their crawl space and we're grateful to their friend for the referral!
When a homeowner in Florence, MA smelled a musty odor from his crawlspace, he knew it was time for a solution. He couldn't bare the smell, but he also wasn't aware of the other dangers! Thankfully, our inspector informed the homeowner about the dangers of mold growth due to all the moisture getting into the crawlspace. Once the issue was clearly diagnosed, we completely encapsulated the crawlspace with CleanSpace vapor barrier. This is our sturdy liner that prevents moisture from entering the crawlspace! Now that moisture can't get in, the humidity levels are more controlled now!

This durable liner will protect this crawl space from the outside moisture that is released from the cold ground. Call us if you are worried or concerned about the condition of your crawl space!
This unique little crawlspace located in Florence, MA was a rare and interesting project for DryZone to work on! Typically, we need at least 18 inches of clearance within the inside of a crawlspace from ground to joist in order to have one of our inspectors gain access inside the crawlspace to perform a thorough evaluation. In this case, the issues in the crawlspace with moisture and mold had become so bad - the homeowner had to rip up the floor on the main level of their home above the crawlspace in order to keep it from getting worse.
Once our team heard that the flooring on the main level of the home had been removed, we knew timing was important and addressing the crawlspace was an important step towards being able to refinish their living space! Our inspector, Craig, evaluated and took the proper measurements for this crawlspace, and our installation team had the unique opportunity and experience to encapsulate a crawlspace that was exposed from above. No climbing in through access points with creepy-crawlies, but lots of natural light and a quick day for our installation team to get in, encapsulate, and clean up. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier system will help protect against moisture build up, mildew and mold for this homeowner, so they should never have to worry about tearing up their living space again!
