Sump Pump Upgrade in Cumberland, RI
Challenge
This homeowner living in Cumberland, RI was devastated after seeing water all over her basement floor. Her sump pump did not engage when the power went out since it relied on electricity to run, like most systems. She didn't want to deal with a wet basement ever again and reached out to us for our sump pump options.
To begin the process, one of our inspectors visited the home to discuss the best solution.
Solution
After observing where the water was coming from, and seeing the old sump pump himself, the inspector proposed to install a full perimeter WaterGuard interior drainage channel and a TripleSafe sump pump to upgrade her waterproofing system! He explained to the homeowner how the WaterGuard will sit inside the perimeter of the basement floor and collect any wall seepage coming through. It then channels the water to the TripleSafe sump pump with the help of gravity. From there, the water will be discharged out of the basement. The homeowner was impressed on the specs for our TripleSafe since it comes with 3 pumps, one of them being a battery backup one. She knew that installing this system would avoid the water dilemma she was having before and immediately said yes to the proposal!
Once the papers were signed, our production team arrived weeks later to begin the transformation! They jackhammered a sump pit for the TripleSafe and a long trench that ran along the inside of the perimeter for the WaterGuard. Once both systems were properly installed, they covered the top with fresh concrete for a clean look! Now, this basement will remain dry during power outages thanks to our reliable waterproofing system!
