Many crawslpaces, that we deal with every day, looks like the photo on the left. Filled with dirt, falling insulation. Basically a catch-all for garbage and debris. This customer in Barnstable, MA had a finished basement with a ground water problem. We came in to solve the problem which means we had to cut half way up the drywall (good thing, too, it was all moldy behind the painted side!) We installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter and replaced the drywall with our Everlast Wall Restoration. Looking at doing basement work. There was some water that came in through the last storm, so maybe a French drain or drainage system. Also, a friend recommended a large dehumidifier such as Santa Fe Dehumidifier. We don't have a Sump Pump so maybe look at that.
