A homeowner in Exeter, RI was worried about the floor above his crawl space after seeing wood rot. The wood that was falling apart was the support structure holding the floor above, so the risk of a collapse was very high. To prevent this from occurring, our inspector suggested installing SmartJack floor support systems, along with our own supplemental beam to raise this floor and stabilize it back in place! The homeowner said yes to the proposal without hesitation, leading to our production crew to arrive and begin the process.
First, they located the weakened support beam and installed 2 steel supplemental beams near it. Once that was in place, 3 SmartJacks were installed under each supplemental beam which allowed them to raise the sagging floor back to place. The homeowner was impressing on how sturdy the SmartJacks were. Now, the concern for a collapsed floor was no longer in existence, giving this homeowner a peace of mind!
This homeowner in Exeter, RI was closing on his house within the next year, but he noticed some wood rot and moisture on several wooden support posts in his dirt crawlspace.
