We reside a 9-year-old home. We have a walk-out unfinished basement that has endured multiple cracks in the cement floor and walls; which are most likely allowing for excess water vapor to enter. We have deduced this based on the mild mildew smell that is present in the basement; especially during certain meteorologic conditions. In addition, occasionally, some of the cracks have visible water marks during heavy precipitation. We do run a dehumidifier continuously.
