Sagging Floor Solution in Bristol, RI
Challenge
A customer from Bristol, RI was faced with with sagging floor issue above his basement. This home was built in 1930, and as time progressed, the structural integrity of the floor above weakened. This customer franticly started to look for any possible solutions to give himself a peace of mind and came across our website. He was fond about our SmartJack systems and wanted one of our inspectors to propose a job to save his sagging floor. If this floor were to collapse, the structural repairs plus the risk of injury would be detrimental to deal with. Solution
The inspector was able to assess the basement carefully and found that the floor joists above were rotting away, causing the supporting strength to weaken. To fix this issue, our inspector devised a plan for our production crew to install several SmartJacks below this floor. Our SmartJacks are made to raise floors back to their original level and secure them in place. These are also made of galvanized steel to avoid corrosion, making these a permanent and reliable fix for this customer!
The installation process was quick and easy. Our production team located the sagging portions of the floor and properly spaced out each SmartJack to ensure this floor will rise correctly. To secure each system to the ground, our team made a small footing of concrete for the SmartJacks to stand in. Once the floor was raised back, this customer was excited about the immediate impact that our SmartJacks made for his floor!
