Foundation Settlement Repair Job in Westborough, MA
Challenge
A customer from Westborough, MA spotted multiple foundation cracks in the wall. These weren't just hairline cracks; they were horizontal and large. Due to this observation, the customer began to worry about the structural integrity of his home and wanted to find a solution as soon as possible. The changes in the soil's moisture content caused this foundation to settle as time progressed. Whenever foundations settle, cracks can form in all various shapes and sizes. If this issue was left untouched, the chances of severe structural damages a water seepage increase. This particular situation needed a stabilization solution, and our team was ready to do whatever it took to give this customer a peace of mind!
Solution
To determine the best solution, one of our inspectors carefully assessed the inside and outside of this foundation. He took measurements of the dimensions, used a laser to see which part is uneven and proposed a PushPier installation job to this customer. After discussing how our system will stabilize this foundation instantly, the customer agreed without hesitation.
Upon the day of the installation, our crew excavated the soil around this foundation. Then, they placed foundation brackets against this home's footing where the steel piers will be driven down. The steel piers were spaced 5 feet apart and were forced into the ground until they reached bedrock at each section. Lastly, hydraulic cylinders were used to stabilize the foundation in place to prevent future settling. Now that the installation was complete, this customer was excited about the immediate impact our PushPiers made! Now, this home is permanently safe from the dangers of foundation settlement.
