Halting a Settling Foundation in Jefferson, MA
Challenge
This foundation at the end of this house was settled in Jefferson, MA. The homeowner also noticed that the footing was becoming exposed through the carpet in his basement. He needed a stabilization job but didn't know who to go to. Luckily, he came across our website for a solution!
He made an initial call with our appointment center and scheduled a day for one of our inspectors to visit him. After the initial visit, the inspector suggested that we do a PushPier installation job to stabilize this settled foundation. The homeowner looked over all the details and agreed to the proposal, excited to have a more stable foundation.
Solution
Our production team began excavating the soil around the home to reach to foundation. Then they installed steel brackets to drive down the piers until they reached bed rock. Once that was set, the brackets were connected to a hydraulic machine where the weight of the home gets distributed to the piers and onto the soil to stabilize it in place. This ultimately put a stop to the settling giving the homeowner a huge sigh of relief. Now, he won't have to worry about future settlement to his house!
