Repairing a Sagging Floor in North Weymouth, MA
Challenge
A homeowner in North Weymouth, MA was faced with a troublesome issue regarding his living room floor. It wasn't even as it used to be, and a portion of the floor felt like it was sagging down a little. This was an issue he wanted to address as soon as he could because his family uses this floor everyday. He called our appointment center and told us about the crawl space issue he was having. Soon after, our call center representative was able to set up a day for one of our experienced inspectors to perform a thorough examination.
Upon the day of the arrival, the inspector got into the crawl space and spotted mold spores growing on the wooden support beam under the sagging floor. Turns out, the crawl space had become so humid that mold was damaging the wood. Solution

To start, they cleaned out any old wood and debris laying around that would cause an interference with the process. Then they installed 3 SmartJacks under the sagging floor to provide a strong steel solution that is adjustable at anytime and won't corrode. Once the floor was raised back to the level it's supposed to be at, they covered the entire floor with CleanSpace vapor barrier. By placing down the CleanSpace, moisture from the outside environment won't be able to seep in, decreasing the chances of mold growth.
