CrawlSpace Renovation in Charlemont, MA
Challenge
This homeowner in Charlemont, MA had a sagging crawlspace that was a major inconvenience. The mold growth on the support beams were getting weakened, causing the issue. When this happens, the chances of the floor collapsing is possible, and that can be a very costly damage repair cost! There was also another issue that was bothering the homeowner, which was the humidity! Any area with a high relative humidity creates the perfect environment for mold to grow in, so it's best to tackle this issue before it gets worse!

Solution
The inspector concluded that our SmartJacks floor support system was perfect to raise the floor back to it's original level and CleanSpace vapor barrier would be best to prevent any moisture from entering. The SmartJacks were installed under the weak part of the floor and was then stabilized. After, the production crew covered the space with CleanSpace to reduce the moisture levels.
By doing so, the energy efficiency of this home increased due to the crawlspace being better insulated from the outside environment. In addition, the floor was back to the position it was supposed to be in!
