Crawl Space Encapsulation in Taunton, MA

Challenge

This homeowner in Taunton, MA previously had work done by us when they needed their basement waterproofed. More recently they started noticing that their dirt floor and fieldstone wall crawl space was very moist and musty so they gave us another call. Having dirt floors and fieldstone walls in a crawl space cause all kinds of problems overtime such as temperature irregularity, moisture buildup, mold, and rot. These issues can severely impact the living area of the home so it's important to keep your crawl space in good condition. Our inspector, Trevor, went out to take a look at the crawl space and drew up a solution to have it encapsulated. Crawl Space encapsulation is a surefire way to improve the conditions of a crawl space.

Solution

Our foreman, Lucio, and his crew started off with removing any debris from the crawl space that would interfere with the encapsulation system. Then they began encapsulating the crawlspace by laying down our drainage matting over the dirt floor which allows water to travel freely beneath the space instead of pooling inside of it and causing further issues. Next, the CleanSpace vapor barrier was carefully installed which will seal out water trying to enter through the vents, walls, or floor. The CleanSpace vent covers were also installed to prevent the crawl space from being affected by outside conditions. Lastly, our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was set up in the space to eliminate any excess moisture in the air. Now the homeowner no longer has to worry about their crawl space or basement with all of our products in place.
