Sagging Damp Crawlspace in Portsmouth, RI
Challenge
A customer called our appointment center one day because he had an extreme concern over his sagging living room floor! Below his living room was his crawlspace that wasn't in the best shape of it's life. The support beam in the crawlspace was rotting from all the mold that latched onto it over time. And as a waterproofing company, we know how serious mold growth can get if it's left alone. It has the ability to cause illnesses, more structural damage and anxiety! In efforts to save this crawlspace, we had one of our professional inspectors fully take a look at the foundation itself to see where the intrusion points are.
Solution
Upon the inspection, the inspector found that the sagging floor could use our SmartJacks steel beam support system. This is our adjustable steel pier that raises the floor back to the correct level, giving that extra layer of support. In addition, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was also included in the solution to dry out the excess moisture that seeped through. Lastly, we covered the floor with CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent moisture from getting into the crawlspace! By doing this, we are restoring the crawlspace back to a healthy state, and this customer couldn't be more happy!
