Moisture Overload In Huntington, MA
Challenge
This customer in Huntington, MA contacted us to find the source of the humidity in his basement. The customer told us that there was a musty odor due to all the moisture in the air. He had carpets that were holding in moisture as well, which contributes to the smell he has been noticing lately. He knew it was time to get professional help because he had plans to live in this house long term, but the basement was making it difficult. In response, we sent over a licensed inspector to examine the situation closely, and to write up a proposal that will fix the problem.
Solution
When the inspector reached the basement, he saw how moist the walls were. His first suggestion was to cover the walls with CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to create a layer that will prevent moisture from passing through. In addition, the inspector added a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier into the proposal to remove water vapor in the air. The customer agreed to the proposal and our production crew was able to set up both systems in a day! Once the installation was complete, there was no signs of high humidity anymore, and this customer was relieved to breathe in clean air.
