Saunderstown, RI CrawlSpace Encapsulation and Insulation
Challenge
When Alan in Saunderstown, RI called in looking for an estimate for his crawlspace, he had a good idea of what would be needed to insulate and waterproof the space. When the inspector, Sam, got inside the crawlspace, he was able to get into specifics with Alan on which pump system and insulation would be best for him and that he would be happy with. Sam and Alan worked together to make the proposal fit Alan’s wants and what the crawlspace really needed, they eventually came up with the ideal solution and were able to get started on making it a reality.
Solution
Our crew reviewed the job and got to work! Lead by Ryan, they started with installing the TerraBlock that would insulate the cold floor and while the SilverGlo would go along the walls, both keeping the temperate and moisture inside the crawlspace controlled. Then CleanSpace was added over to create a vapor barrier and keep any moisture from the ground or walls out of inside the space, but if any did get in, the SuperSump would collect it and push it out and away from the home. Finally, a SaniDry was added in the attached basement and ducted to the crawlspace, this way both rooms can be dehumidified and moisture will be kept at a minimum. Alan was very happy with the results and is looking forward to testing it against the next big rainfall.
