Musty Crawlspace in Nantucket, MA

Challenge

When Jason in Nantucket, MA was dealing with a musty odor coming from the crawlspace, he made a call to DryZone looking for assistance. While talking with Jason, we knew right away that moisture was responsible for the smell and he would benefit from our services. Once we were able to get a look at the basement, we could get a proper assessment and figure out what it would take to get the space to where he hoped it could be.

Solution

At the install, after cleaning out all the debris, we could get to work encapsulating the crawlspace. Our crew started with drainage matting that goes under the CleanSpace vapor barrier, added SilverGlo to one of the walls and then sealed it all with the Rim Joist insulation spray. Then, to tackle the water, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed and tucked into the CleanSpace so that any water that gets onto the barrier will fall into the sump and get pumped out. And finally, to finish it all up, a SaniDry Sedona went into the crawlspace to take the moisture out of the air and keep everything dry. The perfect solution to eliminate that musty smell and give Jason what he was looking for.
