Transformed Crawlspace in Norwood, MA
Challenge
Edward H. in Norwood, MA had a crawlspace in a recent addition that was causing him nothing but problems! The ground of the space was gravel and had been allowing the outside elements to come in and out as they pleased, which was not okay with Edward. Ed finally gave DryZone a call and we were able to get our Design Specialist, Sam, out to inspect the crawlspace and create a plan to solve this homeowner’s problems and keep it dry. They had other contractors out to assess the space and none of them had any suggestions similar to ours, Ed was so pleased with the proposal and was excited to get the work done!
Solution
On installation day our crew was out and ready to transform this crawlspace! They cleared out the space of old insulation and got everything prepped to get encapsulated. We had our CleanSpace vapor barrier added, on top of our TerraBlock crawlspace floor insulation, to seal the space from the outside elements and keep the inside dry and protected. Along with the barrier and TerraBlock, a wall insulator, SilverGlo, was added to keep the inside temperature of the crawlspace regulated using its graphite particles to reflect heat in the crawl. For a finishing touch, Rim Joist Insulation was added to seal all the insulation and barrier, creating a dry crawlspace which is exactly what Edward was looking for and was thrilled with!
