Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: FlexiSpan Crack Repair in Raynham, MA
For the new homeowners of this home in Raynham, MA, a foundation crack was something a stress they didn’t need but unfortunately had. But not to worry, DryZone is here and happy to help. We used our FlexiSpan crack repair, starting with filling the crack with a flexible sealant and then adding a foam strip over the sealed crack. The sealant and foam will be able to move with the wall in the case of pressure or slight movements in the wall, something a cement-based solution won’t be able to do. All of this is sealed up by a membrane that will hold everything in place and keep any water that may seep through inside the system and direct it down to, in this case, a dry well filled with crushed stone in the floor.
Adding the Sealant
The crack is filled with a flexible polyurethane seal that will get deep in the crack. In this home's specific case, a piece of CleanSpace vapor barrier was added for an extra layer of protection against leakage.
Foam Protection Piece
The second layer of protection is added, the foam piece will protect and help direct any possible leakage into the dry well at the bottom.
Final Sealant
The final part of the system, the polyurethane sealant, is added to the crack and gives it a finished and protected look. The dry well is concreted over to finish the work.
