Efflorescence
The white crystals the customer was seeing is called efflorescence. It is mineral deposits being left on the porous concrete once water has dried. It is sure evidence that this basement has had a water issue.
Plastic
The installation crew puts up plastic to keep concrete dust to a minimum while they jackhammer the perimeter of the basement floor to install our system
More Efflorescence
The white material on the ground and walls is another example of efflorescence.
WaterGuard Installation
To install the WaterGuard drainage system, the perimeter of the basement floor must be jackhammered and then filled with clean, crushed stone to aid in filtering the ground water. This keeps the system from clogging easily.
TrenchDrain
This open drain serves as protection for any water that may enter through the basement door. It is connected to the subfloor WaterGuard system and will assist in carrying the water to the sump pump.
Utility Protection
The TrenchDrain has a dual purpose. Not only does it stop water from entering the basement through the door, it will stop any water from ruining utilities. If there was every a plumbing leak or spill of any kind you can rest assured knowing your expensive utility equipment will not be damaged!
CleanSpace Wall
The CleanSpace Wall is affixed to the concrete wall which will seal the system, as well as catch any wall leaks and direct it to the WaterGuard under the floor. The plastic is tucked into the flange at the bottom of the wall and spray foam and caulked at the top.
Waterproof
The walls are waterproofed and the CleanSpace Wall added a whole layer of protection for the basement.
Crawlspace
This home also had a crawlspace. We fully encapsulated with CleanSpace to ensure a dry, healthy enviornment
The Heart of the System
In this corner of the basement you will find the SuperSump with an added battery back up. This customer also got our NEW SaniDry Sedona. It is much smaller and quieter than our previous model but uses less energy! A very efficient way to keep moisture and humidity at an all time low.
Discharge and LawnScape
This is the final stop for the water once it has been diverted back outside. The lawnscape (the green circle at the bottom of the picture) will pop up with the pressure of water looking to escape the discharge pipe that was buried under the ground.
