Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Newton, MA Basement Waterproofing
Finishing the basement is a large investment that adds additional living space. It only makes sense, especially when using traditional finishing materials, to protect that investment by waterproofing first. This basement was finished many years ago but the hydrostatic pressure caused the water to come up through the tiled floor. We came in and created a system of drains and added two sump pumps to make sure water would not ruin the space if the homeowners decide to finish again.
Sump Hole
This is the sump hole the customer started with. Open, small and ineffective
Dug
The floor is jack hammered in a zig zag pattern to address all the areas of concern in the middle of the floor
End Result
The WaterGuard artery is laid down, covered with crushed stone and then concreted. The drain leads to the TripleSafe sump pump in the corner
Super Sump
We also added a SuperSump to replace the existing sump hole that was in place before. This home is ready for finishing!
