Basement Waterproofing Makes Homeowners Happy in West Barnstable
Challenge
Stan and Eileen reached out to DryZone in October 2012 because of their wet basement. They had been living in this home for over 20 years and had dealt with the occasional basement flooding for that long. Eileen works in Washington, DC during the week so the couple treasures their weekends together. They were sick of spending that time shop vaccing the water out of their basement! It was putting a damper on the happy couple, this is when they decided to reach out to professionals. DryZone was not the first company to come in to help Stan and Eileen. Another company installed a full perimeter system (PVC pipes) and a sump pump that failed. The company was no longer in business. This is when Stan decided to give us a call.
Solution
When Rob arrived at the West Barnstable home, he learned that not only was there an inadequate drainage system and a faulty sump pump but two separate crawlspaces that had gone without being treated! We knew that the only way to do this properly was the let Stan know what he was dealing with and let him decide. We completed his waterproofing project first.
Our waterproofing experts installed 120 feet of Waterguard drainage pipe along the inside perimeter of the basement. We also installed our TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe has three pumps to handle any amount of rain, ground water, snow melting, whatever may come along. If one pump fails or can't keep up, another pump will be activated to assist or take over. The third pump is battery powered in case of a power outage so you will be covered even during the worst case scenarios.
The SaniDry XP full basement dehumidifier was installed to get rid of excess moisture and humidity in the basement. If you've ever been in a home down the cape you know the musty, beachy smell Stan and Eileen were experiencing. That is not the case anymore with the SaniDry in place.
Years later, Stan called DryZone back to say he was ready to take care of the crawlspace. We encapsulated both crawlspaces with our CleanSpace 20 mil vapor barrier which completed their installation.
Stan and Eileen have been so thrilled with their experience. They now have more time to enjoy each other on the weekends and don't panic when they see rain in the forecast!
