Rusty Leak in Basement Wall- Kingston, MA
Challenge
We were contacted by the previous owner of this property. He was looking for a permanent solution in order to sell his home. He had previously hired a contractor who did not stand by their work and after a year, the crack leaked again. The customer reached out to his contractor who never returned his calls after the fact. The customer stated there was now a rust colored leak coming from a small spot on the wall. He knew he could not sell the house with this leak. He contacted DryZone to patch the leak and maintain a warranty if there were ever any issues in the future.
Solution
Our system design specialst, Dan, went in there knowing the customer's concerns and given his expertise, he knew the solution. Our FlexiSpan crack repair is the best solution for this kind of issue. . First, our foreman, Ryan sealed the crack from top to bottom with a special flexible sealant on the surface of the crack. Then he attached the FlexiSpan on top, a stronger material that will actually close the crack. The rust color from the leak is caused by a mineral in the water called Iron Ochre. It is naturally occuring in this part of the country and is nothing to be alarmed about. The FlexiSpan did it's job, the customer was happy and sold his home without a hitch!
