Waterproofing a Flooded Bridgewater Crawlspace
Challenge
This concrete and block foundation crawlspace located locally in Bridgewater, MA was experiencing issues with moisture and the homeowners were looking for a solution to the problem. They saw one our our branded vehicles, and decided to inquire about scheduling a free estimate and inspection - which Maureen was happy to help schedule with them! When our inspector, Michael, went out to evaluate - he noticed there was water accumulation in the crawlspace, which was evident by water stains on the walls and floor. Water stains accumulate when dirt, clay, mud, iron ochre or minerals are deposited and left behind after water/flooding events, or continued moisture. Determining what the best solution would be to resolve these issues, Michael and the homeowner discussed options and decided on a course of action so they could move forward with installation.
Solution
A partial WaterGuard system was installed in the most obvious problem area to address water seeping in through the foundation wall/floor joint. With the drainage system in place, we also installed a few WaterGuard ports - which will allow our team to service the system and ensure there are no blockages in the system during annual maintenance! The crew also installed a SuperSump Plus pump system, to replace an existing sump pump system that wasn't quite up to the test, and they installed our CleanSpace Wall vapor barrier system along the run of foundation where our WaterGuard was installed. This will help capture water and moisture seeping in through the block foundation walls, redirect it into the WaterGuard drainage system channel and into the sump pump!
