West Warwick Waterproofing Overhaul
Challenge
These homeowners in West Warwick, RI - not a far drive from Greenwich Bay - were experiencing issues of water leaking into their basement. From what they could determine, water was coming in along the perimeter of the basement foundation, likely where the wall and floor join together. They had an existing sump pump system, and water would sometimes flow down to it, but they were interested in other waterproofing measures that would prove to be more effective.
Our inspector, Connor, met with them and evaluated their mostly finished basement. There was evidence and mineral staining along the foundation walls and floor that could be seen to the naked eye. Following these signs of water intrusion, and from what he gathered in conversations with the homeowners - they determined a course of action that would address the concerns and set them up for a dry basement in their future!
Solution
The biggest problem to solve was the water seeping in along the perimeter; luckily, this problem is easily solved with our WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system (some refer to it as a "french drain" system). This will capture and redirect water right at that source, and physically redirect and carry it over to the sump pump system. By and far, this was a big step into creating a dry basement for these homeowners. They also felt that it may be beneficial to upgrade their existing sump pump system with something a little cleaner, a little easier to work around, and that would prove more effective than their existing set up. Our team installed their existing sump pump into our TripleSafe sump pump liner with enclosed lid, and helped to re-work their sump pump discharge system to make it a little cleaner and more effective.
They are well prepared for any future rain events with these new measures in place!
