Exter, RI Basement Gets Entirely Waterproofed

Challenge

This wet basement in Exeter, RI was in need of some help: flooding and heavy rains caused water to seep up through the basement foundation floor and wall/floor joints, moisture lingered in the air causing moldy damp smells, and there was no way for the water to exit the home. Our inspector, Steve daSilva, evaluated the situation and came up with a plan on how to keep this basement dry for years to come.

Solution

WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system was installed along the entire perimeter of the basement, to help catch water coming up through the foundation wall/floor joint. Next, CleanSpace Wall vapor barrier system was installed along the exterior basement walls to help catch and redirect water directly into the WaterGuard drainage system and over to the TripleSafe Sump Pump system. The TripleSafe is equipped with a primary and secondary cast iron Zoeller pumps, and a tertiary battery powered back up pump to help even in the case of power failure. And lastly but certainly not least - the SaniDry Sedona will help regulate relative humidity within the basement and eliminate the possibility of mold growth, mildew, mushrooms and that damp, musty odor.
