Narragansett, RI Basement Recently Waterproofed
Challenge
This homeowner in Narragansett, RI contacted DryZone on the recommendation of a neighbor who we had also installed a waterproofing system for. That neighbor trusted the work we did and the solutions we were able to provide for them so highly, that they have recommended us to a few neighbors around their area. When this particular neighbor called in, they discussed issues of dampness and water causing issues in their granite stone foundation; they had noticed leaking through both the foundation walls and water coming up through the floor. With one existing sump pump already installed, she wasn't sure what else could be done to resolve these issues that were causing a wet, unhealthy basement.
Solution
Our inspector, Benny, recommended a popular trio coupling: our SuperSump Plus sump pump system, our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, and CleanSpace wall vapor barrier. We LOVE these products because of how much of a significant difference they can make in a basement space. Acting as an effective moisture barrier against the walls, it doubles as a method of redirecting any leaks or seepage of water coming through the foundation walls straight down into our WaterGuard drainage system. This WaterGuard system has perforated channels along the back edge which capture the water and carry it over to the SuperSump Plus sump pump system - which then pumps it up and out of the cellar, into a predetermined spot along the property (always discussed and agreed upon with the homeowner during the initial inspection and estimate). These products have improved the integrity of the basement by reducing risks of flooding and water intrusion, and the CleanSpace wall helps to brighten the space making it feel larger and often times more sightly than stone or concrete basement walls!
