Basement Leaking After Every Rainfall in West Brookfield, MA

Challenge

We received a call from this homeowner in West Brookfield, MA that was experiencing a constant issue with basement water. His basement was unfinished, and every time there was a torrential down pour of rain, he would see water seeping through where the footing is. This resulted in puddles everywhere on the floor, and these puddles have the unfortunate ability to bring in moisture and water damage to this foundation. If moisture becomes abundant, it can create the perfect breeding ground for mold growth which can lead to severe damage to the wooden support structures holding up the floor above. To avoid the big domino affect of water issues, he called us for a waterproofing solution so that his basement can remain dry for years to come. 

Solution

We sent out one of our inspectors to carefully look at the issue and determine what solution is best for keeping this area safe and dry. After seeing how wet the floor was, particularly at the spot where the floor met the wall, the inspector knew that placing our full perimeter WaterGuard interior drainage system would eliminate the issue of the water touching the floor, since the flange this system creates collects the wall seepage. The sump pump suggested was our TripleSafe sump pump since it provides multiple layers of pumps to fight off against heavy rains and power outages, thanks to the backup battery it comes with! 

The homeowner knew this was the right solution for his basement and agreed to proceed with the installation. Our production team arrived to begin the installation process.

To start, they jackhammered a trench above the footing, this ran along the whole inside perimeter of this basement floor. Then, they jackhammered a sump pit for the TripleSafe to be installed in, this is where the water will be pumped far and away from this foundation! Once both systems were in place, they covered the top with fresh concrete for a complete and clean look! Now, water seepage won't be able to reach the floor since it will be intercepted by the WaterGuard and pumped out by the TripleSafe! Ever since our installation, this basement hasn't seen a puddle of water, and this homeowner was able to have a peace of mind for any rainstorm coming his way!
