Humid Crawlspace In Sharon, MA
Challenge
This customer In Sharon, MA was not happy to smell a weird odor coming from his dirt crawlspace. This crawlspace had clear signs or mold growing on debris, humidity and structural damage. Since the crawlspace is exposed to the cold dirt, moisture is able to seep into the area since there is nothing stopping it from entering. This moisture was the root cause of these problems, and the customer had enough! They contacted our appointment center looking for a trusty vapor barrier, and safe to say they made the right call!
Solution
Our inspector went right to the source of the issue and immediately felt the humidity as soon as he entered the crawlspace. This was a clear indication to the inspector that this crawlspace needed CleanSpace vapor barrier and SilverGlo wall insulation. To begin, our production crew took out any old debris that carried mold and insects, then they laid out a drainage matting onto the dirt. That's where the CleanSpace comes in to encapsulate the area, providing a polyethylene vapor barrier to keep the moisture out! Lastly, they installed the SilverGlo into the walls so that there's an extra vapor barrier along with a way to reflect heat back in the crawlspace!
