Basement Waterproofing in Holden, MA
Challenge
This customer in Holden, MA contacted us wanting to waterproof his basement. He has had some water issues in the basement since about 2013 and whether space is just damp or has standing water it became time to fix. The water seems to be coming in from a corner and two parts of the wall.
Our System Design Specialist visited the home and recommended some solutions and our team did an awesome installation. The after shots are amazing!
Solution
Our System Design Specialist recommended CleanSpace a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, an UltraSump, WaterGuard, WaterGuard Inspection Ports, and some TrenchDrains. Let's go through why these products provide the solutions this customer needed.
The CleanSpace is a moisture and vapor barrier we apply to the walls of a crawl space or basement to keep the actual interior space free of moisture and odors. The CleanSpace is an affordable option that is easy to clean and pretty much maintenance-free. Sometimes when we perform our annual maintenance checks we might add some more tape to ensure a tight hold, but besides that, this product does its job and lasts!
The WaterGuard Sub-Floor Drainage is installed around the perimeter and beneath the floor. It connects to the sump pump to discharge the water out and away from the home.
The Sedona Dehumidifier is a great option when trying to reduce a basement's humidity levels. This product is unique in that it stops mold growth and that musty basement smell. It also plays a big role in improving the indoor air quality- which is a big deal for allergy and asthma sufferers. Oh, and who doesn't like saving on their electricity bill?
The UltraSump is a great option to remove unwanted water from a basement by pumping nearly 2,000 gallons per hour! It has a battery backup that turns on if the primary pump is no longer working and an alarm alerts you when this happens.
Last we have some TrenchDrains and WaterGuard Inspection Ports. The TrenchDrain is a surface level drainage option that we install near entry/exits as well as the foot of staircases. It collects the standing water and directs it to the rest of the system to get rid of the water from traveling into the basement any further.
The customer is very pleased with the work and looking forward to enjoying a healthier home!
