Basement waterproofing in Quincy, MA

Challenge

During the major rain storms in 2010, this customer experienced flooding throughout most of the basement. In June 2013, the customer had problematic flooding again during heavy rains. The joint where the floor meets the wall leaked periodically during minimal rain storms as well. Moisture through the stone foundation was causing a musty smell in the entire basement. Although the family has no plans of finishing the basement, they wanted to be able to use the space for storage without worrying about items being ruined from ground water or mold.

Solution

After meeting with System Design Specialist, Dan Gallinger, the family decided on a full perimeter WaterGuard drainage system with CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier installed on all the exterior walls. The WaterGuard system directs ground water to the SuperSump and UltraSump battery back-up system. The crew, led by Foreman Steve daSilva, completed the job in two days. Now, the basement is dry and the musty smell no longer exists.
