Waterproof Flooring That Looks Like Wood in Sherborn, MA
Challenge
In 2015, Melissa and Peter moved to a new home in Sherborn, MA. Since they had worked with DryZone in their previous home, they knew who to call for basement waterproofing. DryZone installed our patented waterproofing system which included WaterGuard, CleanSpace Wall and a TripleSafe. Several years later, Melissa and Peter decided they wanted to begin the process of finishing their basement. They were looking for a classy solution that would keep in line with their beliefs that they should no finish with traditional materials.
Solution
Pat Cahill, our system design specialist, met with the customers to show samples and go over the benefits of each of the flooring options we offer. It was a no-brainer to go with the beautiful ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring. These locking planks have raised pegs on the bottom that suspend them above the cold, concrete floor creating a thermal break. This makes the surface temperature on the floor up to ten degrees warmer! The break in the flooring also prevents water vapor from getting trapped which eliminates the cause of odors and mold, ideal for any basement environment, The only other question was light pecan or dark walnut!
Our foreman, Steve DaSilva, had a challenging task ahead of him. Since we had already installed a full perimeter waterproofing system with a sump pump, he knew we had to leave inspection ports and the sump accessible. The first step was to lay all the plank flooring down to visualize the planks that would need to be manipulated. Steve is our senior foreman and he is no stranger to this kind of installation and was certainly up for the challenge. He did a wonderful job and the customers could not be more happy with the final results!
