Mark in West Barnstable was having water enter the basement during heavy rains and he’d had enough of just dealing with it, he wanted a solution. Mark called DryZone looking for one of our free estimates and for one of our inspectors to help him out and we were there to help! One product our inspectors always recommend is a full perimeter of Waterguard, our drainage system that pairs perfectly with a sump pump. The drain system will collect water that seeps in from any side of the basement and guide it to the sump where the pumps will work to get it out. Mark knew he needed this system installed in his basement for maximum waterproofing and we were happy to educate and install it for him.
Starting the Install
To install the Waterguard, first our crews use a jackhammer to open the floor along the edge since it sits below the surface.
All Ready
They then clean up the rubble and prep the trench for the drain, they'll lay it in and then fill in the sides with crushed stone so dirt and debris doesn't clog the pipe.
Finished Result
After the Waterguard is placed and surrounded with crushed stone, a fresh layer of cement is place on top to keep it in place and create a clean look. You'd barely know it was there!
