Habitat for Humanity Project: Serving Those Who Served Us
Saturday mornings are times for us to seek comfort in our beds, or even a laid back brunch. But on September 9th, 2023, members from DryZone Basement Systems had a different plan in mind! This was an opportunity to give back, to serve those who have served our nation.
Our company had a clear mission, to ensure that this disabled veteran has a basement that will be free from moisture and water issues under the Habitat for Humanity project. This future home was still in the pre-construction phase, which gave us the opportunity to install our full perimeter drainage system, the WaterGuard. In addition, two TripleSafe sump pumps were strategically placed in opposite corners , which are known to efficiently discharge water during heavy rainstorms and power outages. With the knowledge that a company would soon pour the basement floor, we installed our system so it will be secured in place once everything is finished.
Then recognizing the importance of a vapor barrier to maintain a dry basement, we lastly covered the walls with CleanSpace. This will not only ensure a moisture-free environment but also provides a clean, finished look to the basement itself!
We aren't just about profit, we're about values, community and recognizing the greater good. The importance of community is all about looking out for one another. It's amazing what businesses like us can achieve when we channel our skills for the greater good. For this veteran, the basement will not just be a part of their house, it's an appreciation from us that means more than anything!
