The home owner in West Yarmouth, MA had a damp and musty crawl space. The property is on Cape Cod and often has moisture from the ground and a lot of humidity in the summer months. The home owner was concerned about mold and mildew forming in the crawl space and affecting the home. So they decided to reach out to a professional to help solve their problem.

Solution

The customer in West Yarmouth, MA contacted DryZone Basement Systems for a free estimate and was able to discuss with our system design specialist Derek Rice what their exact concerns were and how to solve the problem. We suggested installing a vapor barrier, rim joist spray foam installation and SilverGlo insulation to keep the moisture and humidity out of the home.

The shiny material is SilverGo insulation and is installed beneath the rim joist in the property to keep the warm air in during the winter and the humid air out during the summer.

The CleanSpace vapor barrier replaced the old plastic lining that did not properly take care of the moisture problems. The CleanSpace vapor barrier is placed and attached by moisture and mold proof CleanSpace tape which is extremely durable.
