Challenge

For the past two years, the homeowner experienced puddling during rain storms in a few sections of the unfinished basement. Water would also pour in the basement window after filling up the window well outside. Our inspector, Jay Hanrahan, met with the customer to discuss multiple options to address their unique situation.

Solution

With the help of Jay, the homeowner decided to install a SuperSump pump system in both sections of the basement. WaterGuard was installed to direct ground water seepage to the SuperSump pumps. The crew, led by Steve daSilva, also installed two Window WellDucts. This will direct any water from the window well into the WaterGuard system so it does not leak on the walls and floor.

Water would seep in through the window and down the basement wall.

A WellDuct directs any water that collects in the window well down into the WaterGuard system. A SuperSump was installed to pump out the ground water.
